Happy First Birthday, Us!
Check out that awesome birthday art by Mr. Rob Simmons!
Yes, it’s been exactly one year since Registered Weapon squirted forth from our mind-loins, glistening with…uh, this is going south pretty quick. It’s been exactly one year since the CyberStork dropped Registered Weapon on your internet doorstops in a shining golden basket of hilarity and bullets. It’s been a lot of fun for us so far, and hopefully for you too. There are a few people we’d like to thank:
–Thanks to everyone who’s blogged, tweetered or message-boarded about RW, including such fine folks as Kieron Gillen, Mesmerization Eclipse, Dr. K, Rosscott of The System, and Gary Tyrrell.
–Extra-special thanks to Kevin Church, writer of the excellent webcomics The Rack, The Loneliest Astronauts and She Died in Terrebonne, for being an early proponent and an actual real-live person who was kind enough to chat and offer advice at Comic-Con.
–Extra-extra-special thanks to Chris Sims, chief prophet of the Action Age and co-pilot of the mighty War Rocket Ajax, for his frequent and vocal boosterism, including the nicest review one could wish for.
–Huge thanks to our families for their love and support, i.e. not laughing right in our faces when we said we wanted to make a webcomic about a robotic cash register who fights crime.
–And the biggest thanks of all to you, the readers, for coming here four times a week to read the adventures of said robotic cash register. Whether you’ve bought the book, joined Crime Squad, left comments, posted links on Twitter or message boards, or just read the comics, we sincerely appreciate it. We hope you’ve enjoyed the last year, and we can assure you the second year is going to be even better.
–Chris, Gardner, Dave & Rob
(And a special mega-bonus thanks from Chris & Gardner to Dave & Rob: RW would be nothing more than a few lame puns cracked over beers and wings and terrible sketches shoved in a drawer and forgotten were it not for the amazing work you two have done over the past year and change. Thanks to you, Frank and FELIX have come alive. God bless the internet for bringing Atlanta, Los Angeles, York and Baltimore together. Goal for this year: meeting in person!)
p.s. Hey John Locke, what do you think about RW’s birthday?

You complete us, John Locke.
