Gorgeous Gorman

Frank’s grandfather, “Gorgeous” Francis Gorman, was a P.I. back in the 1940s–and the star of a series of pulp detective tales by writer Donald Carroway and artist Jack Stansfield. We’re tracking these down in rare book shops around LA, scanning them for posterity and presenting them for your amusement and edification.

The Tiger’s Key (1941)

With a mug like his, Gorgeous Gorman doesn’t get much attention from the ladies–so when a beautiful woman approaches him in a seedy bar, it’s less an invitation to romance than a prelude to a nightmare involving kidnapping, Nazis and killer robots.
