It Begins

Monday, January 12th, 2009

Hi! Welcome to the launch of Registered Weapon, the internet’s premiere police-themed funny robot webcomic. We’ve been working on this for a while, so we’re very excited to throw our baby out into the world to see if it can fly, or at least walk, or at least not get eaten by a shark. We do hope you enjoy it.

We’re kicking things off with a full work week of strips that introduce Frank and FELIX and their world–a new one every day, Monday through Friday. Starting next week, we’ll go to our normal schedule of twice-weekly updates on Tuesday and Friday. To make sure you don’t miss an episode, you can subscribe to the RSS feed and have the magic come to you. To stay abreast of all the latest developments, you can also join the Facebook group or become a deputy in Frank Gorman’s Crime Squad (see below and to the right for the sign-up form).

If you enjoy the comic, there are a few things you can do to help us spread the word (and which will earn you our eternal gratitude). On the About page there’s an animated button that you can download or hotlink and place on your own blog or website with a link to http://registered-weapon.com. Or you can click one of the many “SPEAK UP!” buttons (such as the one directly below) to share a comic or post via your favorite social networking, bookmarking or email service.

That’s about it. Enjoy the first installment, and we’ll see you back here tomorrow for the introduction of FELIX. Until then, keep an eye out for crime, and if you see anything suspicious, drop us a line at registeredweaponATgmailDOTcom.

Thanks,

Gardner, Chris & Dave

Felix the Barbarian

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

A week or so ago, some nice fellows started an RW discussion on the Order of the Stick boards (if you have ever rolled a 10-sided die, this comic is for you). For a bit of fun, Dave sketched Felix in a head-clubbing moment inspired by the Dungeons & Dragons Saturday morning cartoon.

If you’d like to see more anachronistic versions of Felix, flood the RW inbox with requests. Personally, I’m eagerly awaiting Arctic Explorer Felix, circa Richard Byrd’s historic 1928 expedition.

Also, be sure to visit Matt Simpson’s Nuclear Powered Toaster for three reasons. One, he gave RW a dollar-dropping cover quote in the OotS discussion. Two, the comic itself is a fun read. And, three, that name definitely sounds like a dig Frank would toss at Felix.
